Meet Sonja
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
When looking for a therapist, it’s important to find the “right fit.” I create a nurturing space while also providing honest feedback and challenging you where needed. I value creating real connections with my clients and facilitating new perspectives where you might walk away saying, “I’ve never thought about it that way before.” I am a deep thinker and an engaged listener; people have described me as “warm” and “wise.”
I use a psychodynamic approach to therapy, meaning that we will look at how early childhood experiences / environments have shaped your current worldview. I also use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness principles to help you relate to yourself & your emotions in new ways. While these approaches inform my practice, I tailor my interventions according to the unique needs of each client.
I have experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The pursuit of mental health & wellbeing has been my life’s work both personally and professionally, and I am committed to providing my clients with high-quality care. Please reach out if you’d like to learn more.
