Frequently Asked Questions
Are you accepting new clients?
Yes! Reach out here to schedule a consultation call.
What is your fee?
My fee is $150 for a 55-minute individual psychotherapy session.
I have a limited number of sliding-scale slots for individuals who are experiencing financial hardship. If finances are a barrier, please still reach out and we can have a conversation about a fee that feels mutually comfortable.
I accept all payment methods including Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards, all major credit / debit cards, cash, and check.
Do you accept insurance?
I am in-network with Quest Behavioral Health. Otherwise, I am an out-of-network (OON) provider. That being said, many of my clients are able to get a percentage of their therapy costs reimbursed by their insurance providers. Here’s how that process works:
You would pay for therapy out-of-pocket upfront, then submit a “superbill” (a type of receipt that I will provide) through your insurance’s client portal. Once approved, your insurance provider would reimburse you for a certain percentage of the cost. To see if you qualify for these benefits, call your insurance provider and ask the following questions:
· Do I have out-of-network benefits for individual psychotherapy? (If they ask
for CPT codes, you may provide 90834 & 90837)
· What is the reimbursement rate?
· Do I have a deductible? How much has already been met?
· Is there a limit to the number of sessions I can be seen by my therapist?
· What paperwork is needed to submit out-of-network reimbursement claims?
If you have more questions about this, please reach out.
Do you meet in-person or virtually?
Both. In-person sessions are available on Wednesdays at my office in the Rittenhouse neighborhood of Philadelphia. Otherwise, I offer telehealth appointments using a HIPAA-compliant video platform.
What’s your approach to therapy?
I use relational psychodynamic therapy to uncover root causes of your emotional suffering and understand your ways of relating to others. I also use Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness skills to help you relate differently to your thoughts and feelings. That being said, I am trained in a variety of therapeutic interventions and will tailor our therapy to your specific needs.
What’s the onboarding process like?
First, we will schedule a free consultation call. This call usually lasts about 20 minutes and gives us the chance to see if we’d be a good fit, learn more about what’s bringing you into therapy, and answer any questions you have. After our consultation call, I will email you some basic information / consent forms to review, fill out, and return to me at least 24 hours before we meet.
During our intake session, I will ask you several questions about yourself and gather more detailed information about what’s bringing you into therapy. There is nothing you need to do to prepare for this session. At the end of our intake session, we will discuss your goals for therapy and collaborate on best ways for you to get the most out of the experience.
How often will we meet?
To start, we will meet on a weekly basis. This allows us to form a trusting bond and get some momentum going regarding your treatment. Consistency is key in therapy. Depending on the acuity of your symptoms & budget / scheduling needs, we can adjust the frequency of our sessions after the beginning phase of treatment.
